The annual pilgrimage to Saratoga is already under way although the opening day of the meeting is still ten days distant The uncertainty of transposition facilities made it im ¬ perative for horsemen to ship their stahles to the Sua earlier this year than ever before which ac ¬ counts for the early departure from Long Island tracks of many of the big racing establishments These shipments will continue right tip to the open ¬ ing day of the meeting and it is expected that there will lie no trouble in arranging the Caviinaugh Special to take the horses racing at Kmpire Oity lo Saratoga at the conclusion of the Yoiikers meet ¬ ing Many of the Kentucky horses are being shiiiiHd direct to Saratoga although a large number of tinin are now engaging in the racing at Empire City CityIndications Indications at this date are that stable room at the Spa will be at a premium and that many horsemen will be forced to seek accommodations outside of the course Successful as was the Sam toga meeting last year it will be eclipsed in every particular this summer is the consensus of opinion among those interested in tnrf affairs The won ¬ derful prosperity attending the local meetings this year shows an increased interest in racing and the attendance has been the largest since the prosperous days of the turf before adverse legislation almost wiped out the sjiort Everyone is forecasting that not only will the same prosperous conditions prevail ¬ ing heijabouts continue at Saratoga but to an even greater extent extentNo No one doubts but that some wonderful racing will be wen at Saratoga All the best horses in the country will be there The track has been re ¬ built and is said to be fast and safe Many com ¬ plaints have been made regarding the condition of the old track in former years but with practically a new course to race their horses over owners will not have the condition of the track as an excuse for the poor showijig of their representatives representativesThe The grand army of valuable stake features that have l eeu provided by the Saratoga Racing Associa ¬ tion has attracted a recordbreaking entry list with all the stars of the turf
