FORECAST OF THE FUTURE This will be the way of it You shall have the say of it itThere There will be a garden green And a kitchen white and clean cleanThere There will be some rooms with chintz chintzAnd And a few wellchosen prints There will be some chairs as kind As are verses to the mind There will be whole shelves of books booksAnd And a tree for wrens and rooks v vAnd And for leaves to wink their warning warningThrough Through our window in the morning morningAnd And the sea somewhere below Whispering soft and sad and slow slowAnd And a road for tinkers carts cartsTraveling Traveling from foreign parts n nI I shall have a pipe to smoke smokeAs As I sit beneath our oak oakAnd And your fingers will be busy J With the stitch that makes me dizzy t tAnd And the children will be chubby chubbyJust Just as then and just as grubby r rFor For its hard to keep them tubby If you wish them as they are areAnd And at night well see our star Yes our own peculiar star Burning silver iii the heavens heavensOn On a world released from war warYes Yes I know thats far so far farBut But that will be the way of it itAnd And you shall have the say of it Century
