OUT AFTER SALVATORS MILE RECORD Special Race to Be Arranged at Saratoga with Suit ¬ able Purse to Attract Fast Milers By J L Dempsey DempseySaratoga Saratoga N Y August 7 Sun Briars record breaking mile in 135 yesterday was the out ¬ standing topic among owners and turfmen this morning and there is a growing interest for the as ¬ sociation to card a special mile race that would bring all the cracks together having for its object the lowering of Salvators mile time of 135 made over the Long Branch track trackA A suitable purse with an extra monetary consider ¬ ation if Salvators time was reduced would bring together the best milers here and it is generally thought that the record would go by the boards boardsOne One of the foremost to look with favor on the proposition was Andrew Miller who declared his willingness to send Itoamer into competition to lower the mile mark I would regard it as a pleasure able sporting proposition to start Itoamer if such race could be arranged said Mr Miller this after ¬ noon The weights could be arranged in satis ¬ factory fashion to all For example threeyearolds could be weighted with 105 pounds and those older could carry 115 pounds poundsIt It is more than probable that the Saratoga Asso ¬ ciation knowing what a sterling attraction the race would be will offer a tempting purse for the best of the horses here to meet with the object of re ¬ ducing Sulvators mile record
