CANADIAN TURFMAN KILLED IN ACTION ACTIONSaratoga Saratoga N Y August 7 Turfmen here learned today that LieutCol Bartlett lIcLelhui of Mon ¬ treal one of Canadas foremost turfmen who a few years ago raced an extensive stable of steeplechasers on the New York tracks was killed in action in France on August 3 He left Montreal with the first divisions of Canadian troops and during the four years he was in service he was In the thick of the fray and was twice cited for bravery At the time of his death he was in command of the 42nd battalion of the famous Canadian Black Watch One of his citations was the highlyprized distin ¬ guished service order
