UNRESTRICTED TWOYEAROLD RACING Saratoga N Y August 14 The ban on two yearolds is about to be lifted and hereafter they can engage in racing before April 1 as often as their owners choose to run them The announcement of this came from Major August Belmont who sent a communication to this effect from xuv York this afternoon In connection with the rescinding of the rule he stated Great pressure has been brought to bear upon us to rescind this rule by the breeders and in view of the economic conditions of the coun ¬ try we feel that perhaps it is best to yield to their request at least for the present presentOur Our only reason for doing this is our desire to protect the small breeder against loss at a time when they cannot really afford to bear it itThe The announcement that the Jockey Club stewards had acted favorably ou the twoyearold rule was hailed with pleasure by tlie numerous breeders in attendance at this race meeting it will have a wholesome effect ou the future yearling market and stimulate breeding was tlie general opinion of the breeders
