TRYING OUT APPLEGATE YEARLINGS Louisville Ky September 19 Kay Spence who lias a stable of twentyone horses in training for the local meetings made a flying trip to Douglas Park jesterday for the purpose of trying out five yearlings which he is training for Col W E Applegate and working some of the other horses which he left here when he shipped a division of his stable to Lexington to take part in the meet ¬ ing now going on at that place He reports that the racing at Lexington is being exceptionally well patronized and that turfmen gathered there are looking forward with keen interest to tho meetings scheduled for this cits Amonc the yearlings which lie has in charge for Col Applegate is a brother t Col Applegates crack threeyearold Jack Hare 4r the youngster being a son of Marathon and MoonVt How good a prospect the colt may be cannot yet be determined as he has only recently recovered from a SJK11 of sickness that gave him a setback
