HILDRETH TO RACE AT NEW ORLEANS St Louts Mo September 19 The efforts to get a better class of horses for Xew Orleans is bearing fruit The latest recruit for the meetings is S C Hildreth trainer for Major August Belmont chair ¬ man of the lotkey Club In a personal letter to Joseph A Murphy Hildreth has asked for stalls for TwentyhT rsesC They are the property of dif ¬ ferent owners In answer to a letter to Major Belmont asking him to send something to New Orleans Mr Murphy has received a reply from Major Belmont stating that he had nothing to race at present that he was iu service at the present time and expected to return to France shortly He is sending one horse however with Hililreth to train for next year Whether this horse will start in the New Orleans stakes is yet to de determined determinedAl Al Westou will shiy Mr Clydes horses as usual Two new stables will be those of Pat Dunne and Major Thomas C McDowell It has been some years since Pat Dunne niccd at Xew Orleans and Major McDowell has always passed the winter meetings up upMr Mr Murphy has received a letter from Joe Mc ¬ Lennan suggesting that the Tockey Club resolution asking associations to include in their program every other day a nice at a mile and a quarter or over Tins will probably bo done McLennan also wrote strongly in favor of the 4ockey Club rule in respect to apprentices the allowance ceasing after a boy has ridden forty winners
