STAKE PROGRAM FOR FAIR GROUNDS Eleven Feature Events Each of 1500 Added Are Provided No Purso Loss Than 500 New Orleans La October 5 At a meeting of the board of directors of the Business Mens Racing Association held Thursday evening Joseph A Murphy manager of the racing department sub ¬ mitted a list of stakes and officials for the winter season which opens January 1 and continues to March 4 4A A change of policy in stakes was inaugurated Previously two big stakes were given at the end of the season It was found that some of the best horses were reserved for them and if rain caine they were not raced This year eleven stakes each with an added value of 1500 will be given A change will also be made in the distribution of purses although the same amount of money will be offered There will be seven nices three of 500 three of 500 and one of 1000 daily except stake days when the 1000 purse will be omitted In 500 purses 50 of first money will be paid in Liberty Bonds In GOO purses 100 of first money will be paid in Liberty Bonds In stakes and 1000 purses JOO will be paid in Liberty Bonds A deduc ¬ tion of five per cent from all first money will be made for the Red Cross CrossThe The officials staff has been strengthened by the addition of E C Smith of the New York Jockey Club This will permit Herman Conklin to act as patrol judge The complete staff of officials will be beJudges Judges Joseph A Murphy E C Smith and J II Campbell CampbellStarter Starter A II Dade DadeRacing Racing secretary Joseph McLennan McLennanPatrol Patrol judge Herman Conkliu ConkliuPaddock Paddock judge John Carey CareyMr Mr Campbell will act as clerk of tne scales
