BIG MONEY FOR HORSEMEN AT LATONIA LATONIAApproximately Approximately 200000 Will Be Distributed During the Twenty One Days of Racing Oiitcinimti 0 October 9 During the twenty one days of racing at Latonia the horsemen who par ¬ ticipate in the meeting at this Kentucky track jvhicli will bring the racing season in the west to a close will race for a total of approximately 00000 all f which with the exception of tin trifling amount Browing out of subscriptions ami starting fees will be contributed in the form of milled money bv the Latonia Jockey Club ClubThe The program Iniok for the first ten days of the meet ing shows that the average daily distribution during this period will run close to 10010 On the opening day when the ratouiu Autumn Inau ¬ gural Handicap will be the stellar feature of the program the total distribution will materially exceed that figure The same condition will hold true of the third day of the meeting Saturday October 19 when the Fort Thomas Stakes of 3000 added will be run and likewise of other days for which stakes are scheduled It is figured that the distribution for the second half of the meeting the program for which will be issued later on will reach an even higher average since it will in ¬ clude two especially valuable stakes the Queen City Handicap for twoyearolds and the Latonia Cup two miles and a quarter which imiKirtnnt events will each be worth nearly 10000 gross grossAs As announced in advance tint minimum purse of ¬ fered in the book is 1000 There are only a few of this value and they are designed for the cheaper sort of horses Besides the Iatonia Autum Inaugu ¬ ral Handicap of 3000 added the opening day card will consist of two purses of 1400 each two of S120O and two of 1000 The offering for the second day which is devoted to overnight racing exclusively embraces one purse of 1500 four of 1200 and one of 1000 On the third day besides the Fort Thomas Stakes of 3000 added there will be two purses of 1400 two of 1200 and two of 1000 The values described are typical of what is offered throughout the entire meeting although upon occasions overnight purses of as high as 2000 are offered offeredSecretary Secretary CamplK H has built his program on a high class basis and the hearty cooperation of the horsemen is all that is now necessary to give La tonia patrons of racing a brand of sport well worth enthusing over Scattered through the book are numerous races under the conditions of which a substantial percent ¬ age of the purse will be paid in bonds of the Fourth Liberty Loan and in War Savings Stamps
