CANADA TAKES SOLDIER CENSUS The back to the land movement for disabled soldiers in Canada is being handled by the De ¬ partment of Soldiers Civil Heestablishment through a census of the soldiers with a view to ascertain ¬ ing their occupations and future ambitions About 200000 cards have already been obtained and are being analyzed in order that the government may know the magnitude of the problem problemAmong Among the questions asked of the soldiers were the following followingHow How many men wish to go on the land lu what provinces they wish to settlrl Hoy many can go back to positions which are being held open for them How many have trades or professions How many wish to return to provinces other than those from which they enlisted How many are young and feingle How many have family ties How many under each trade heading want to go to each province provinceThe The farm problem is ono that has been carefully considered in Canada but one difficulty has arisen in the desire of the niin to obtain land in fairly well developed communities instead of being shipped into remote places Most of the land most readily available is owned by railway companies and one faction in Canadian politics believes that this should be released for the returned soldiers
