AFTERMATH OF THE LATONIA MEETING Big Special Train of Tmo Hundred Horses Leaves for Cuba Officials Depart Cincinnati November 30 Racing Secretary J R Campbell left Friday night for New Orleans where he will fin a similar position at Iwith Jef ¬ ferson Park and the Fair Grounds as does Julius Reeder clerk of the scales S C Nuckols Jr placing judge has returned to his home at Versailles Ky Starter A 11 Dade will spend some time at his home in Henderson Ky before proceeding to New Orleans where he will serd the fields away at the Fair Jrounds Frank J Bruen Manager Hach meisters assistaut will depart next week for Ha ¬ vana where he fills the position of auditor at Oriontal Park Eugene EIrod manager of the pari mutuels dpeartment will remain hereabouts for a time John B McLaiighlin who supervises the operation of the inutncls for the Kentucky State Racing Commission has gone to his home at Lex ¬ ington to remain until the opening of the Fair Grounds OrleansThere meeting at New Orleans There was much activity at Latonia Friday but it was of a differdnt type than that of the preceding fortnight while the racing was on Horse ¬ men were making the usual preparations for im ¬ mediate departure for other centers of racing activity or arranging to ship into winter quarters The big racing plant was being stripped of its movable equipment and otherwise put in condi ¬ tion for the winter winterThe The principal event of the day was the departure of the big special shipment of horses to Cuba It got away according to schedule and will run on passenger time direct to the gates of Oriental Park at Marianao Cuba General Manager Brown Charles H Lansdale Frank J Bruen and Edward Jasper who organized the shipment were on hand to see it off The train consisted of twenty Arms Palace horse cars Pullman sleeping cars a day coach baggage and dining cars J II Moody goes through with the train as the special representative of the CubaAmerican Jockey Club The shipment was one of the most extensive ever moved from Ken ¬ tucky embnvciiig some two hundred horses owned by the following followingWilliams Williams Bros Kay Spence Frank D Weir R B Allen W A Armstrong S T Baxter George W Billerman James Boland K Brewster Tom Brown L II Dickinson R J Farris W Feuchter J W Fuller G M Hendrie J P Ross J Gass J Griffin J J Holtman W Perkins Mrs M E Lovell W A McKinney Mrs A G Nichaus E P OMeara H W Plant J J Quinlan F Rector J C Rouse Jr J A Seckington M M Shields II Van Ry Woodman Bros C T Worthington J W Nailer G L Fitzgerald H Oots and G War ¬ wick wickHORSES HORSES FOR CUBAN RACING RACINGAmong Among the wellknown horses included in the shipment were Hodge Hocnir Raf ferty High Gear FrogleKS FauxCol Sedan Impressive Sentimental Billy Joe Skiles Knob Marys Beau Primero Jef fery Bac Yenghee Dimitri Mud Sill Luzzi Milestone Colle Gordon Russell Sam McMeekin Sweet Alyssum Storm Bound King AVorth Am ¬ bassador III Hamilton A Sparkler James G Joe Stalir Carrie Moore and Yorkville YorkvilleThe The biggest stable in the shipment is that of Kay Spence who is taking thirtyone horses Wil ¬ liams Bros shipped twenty and Howard Oots eighteen Jockeys H Luhsford and T Murray accompanied the Spence stable J Howard went along with the Williams string and H Burke with the Oots establishment establishmentThere There were also numerous departures for New Orleans and it is only a question of a few days before the Latonia track will shelter only the few horses that will winter there thereAn An eleventhhour addition to the Cuban shipment was the stable of James IV Ross of Lexington who sent Waterford St Judo and Butcher Boy to the Cuban track in charge of James Gass GassTrack Track Superintendent Charles Nolle will remain here a week or two to get the track shaped up for the winter and then will go to his home at Louisville to remain until spring A considerable number of employes holding responsible positions in the parlmutuel department will go to Havana to capacitiesW serve in similar capacities W F Knebelknmp will ship Kildare Boy and several other horses to tor toNew r New Orleans in charge of J Foster Trainer W Perkins has added seven horses to the shipment which left Latonia today for Cuba They will go in charge of Trainer Cecil Howard and include yenghee Diniitri Exempted Dragon Rock Bac First Ballot and Lamp Post Other late addi ¬ tions to the Cuba consignment include the stables of J N Nailer G Warwick and Cy Baxter
