RULES FOR FAIR GROUNDS RACING Business Hens Association to Make Them More Stringent Than Ever Before NEAV ORLEANS La December 23 The major ¬ ity of the better grade horses now at the Fair Grounds will be ready for the meeting which opens on New Years Day They have not sturtcd at Jefferson Park principally because of the bad con ¬ dition of that track due to unusually inclement weather that prevailed since Thanksgiving Day However their training has gone on steadily at the Fair Grounds which course has been uniformly go xl except on the few days last week when the heavy rainstorm deluged the track trackThe The business Mens Racing Association in its efforts to preserve its reputation for conducting clean racing will have if M ssible more stringent rules than have prevailed at its previous meetings It lias taken the broad stand that persons who for any cause have mtde themselves undesirable at tracks under the jurisdiction of reputable clubs or associations should be considered undesirable here until they have secured a clean bill f health from the association making the original ruling rulingAs As a consequence the following ruling for the guidance of the track police has been formulated Any person who has been ruled off warned off denied the privileges of the course had a license refused or revoked had their entries re ¬ fused or had any ruling made against them with the implication of fraud or sharp practice by any reputable associatiin will be denied all privileges including admission to the grounds of tlie Business Mens Racing Association until proof is produced that the person has been restored to good standing by the association making the ruling Another important regulation is this Any per ¬ son who as owner agent employe or in any other capacity whatever participates in any or all betting carried ou within the grounds of the Business Mens Racing Association will not be permitted to race any horses on such grounds or have employment in any capacity with any racing stable This rule will be strictly enforced and severe penalties visited on those who violate it itT T P Itornmau reported that P S Keppins highly prized yearling brother to AVesty Hogan is ill xyith pneumonia The yearling colt by Patriot Florio which will race in the interests of Bob Gil more has been named Gorham in compliment to John Gorham of Lexington Ky KyGeorge George Morton arrived today from the east witli several horses belonging to L Reuniug of New York Among the number is Quickf ire a yearling filly by Flint Rock Queen of Trent which was formerly tlie property of August ISelmont ISelmontGeorge George AV Dodge is at the Fair Grounds with a small stable that includes among others Dervish Star Shooter and the twoyeareld Harry Rudder RudderOwner Owner Chancellor will be given a reasonable time in which to adjust his affairs before being forced to vacate vacateAV AV P Johnson owner of Marasmus and others in the Chancellor stable telegraphed to George Laud this afternoon to take charge of his horses Me Johnsou is expected here from Chicago in a few days daysTrainer Trainer Coffcy who was responsible for the expose and who terminated his connection with the Chan ¬ cellor stable immediately after the Marasmus race will insist on the sale of Old Iroqm in which he owns u half interes as speedily as possible
