SCOTCH SALMON AUTUMN CATCHES Scarcity of fish and hard frosts have made many blank days this autumn in the salmon fishing waters of the Scottish Tay and Tweed according to the London Fishing Gazette But Lady Nina Balfour caught ten fish on two consecutive days on Birg ham Water one being a thirtyfour pounder Sir John Holder had the only fortypounder caught this season when fishing Hendersyde the other day On Floors Water the Rev W McCallum had one twentyone pounds and the next day the Duke of Roxburghe killed a salmon eighteen pounds The Marquis of Zetland had four salmon ranging round twenty pounds on November 13 and 14 and has thus had about sixty fish to his own rod on Makers toun Water Mr and Mrs Cayley have killed some fish on Rutherford Water and the Earl of Ellersmere at Merstoun but above that sport has been of the most meager description Scarce a fish has been caught recently on Teviot
