Spreckels and Edward Cebrian, three of the- most prominent of Californias breeders and owners; Thomas Fortune Ryan, master of Oak Ridge Farm, Virginia; F. Wallis Armstrong. Mcadowview Farm, New Jersey; F. Ambrose Clark, Westbury, L. L; Edward F. Whitney, New York; John Middleton, one of tlie owners of the Pastime Stable, Louisville: Joseph M. Madden, son of John E. Madden; W. V. Tliraves, Longridge Farm, Lexington; A. E. Hundley, Monietta Farm, Danville. Ky., and Stephen Black, Franklin Couuty, Kentucky.
