FISHING AND HUNTING NOTES Midwinter fishing for pike and pickerel Is becom-; ing a s,port novelty that each year is appealing to an increasing number of anglers. Seven New Jersey gunners lost their hunting; privileges last season when their licenses were revoked for violations of the license act. The Baltimore State Game Warden has placed an order for 10,000 Mexican quail and 1,000 rabbits.j The quail price is 1.50 and the rabbit each. Al Brown of Greenfield, Mass.. has a champion coon dog, .which bagged for him fifty-seven coons,, and ten more; were taken by. other hunters who, used his dog. The odor of a woodcock is distasteful to; many animals and dogs that were known as splendid retrievers on other game birds positively refuse to! pick up a woodcock. .
