JOHN HACHMEISTER DECIDES TO RETIRE CINCINNATI. .. January 31. John Hachmeister. the popular and successful manager of the Douglas Park and Latonia race tracks, is going to retire from the turf. After the comnletion of the sale of the above-mentioned tracks. Mr. Hachmeister announced that lie had decided to to out with the old regime. "The purchasers asked me to continue with them for the time being at least," remarked Mr. Hachmeister last night, "hut I decided to go out with the old regime. I have been in the saddle at Latonia for about twelve years, and believe I am entitled to a rest. I have nothing in view and do not expect to do anything for a year. No. I am through with racing. If I ever return it will be as a horse owner. The purchasers asked me to continue in my present capacity for u time at least, but I preferred to get out now. I appreciate their kind offer and will be here to assist them in any way I can."
