PRESENTATION OF THE PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE JOCKEY CLUBS SCALE OF WEIGHT FOR AGE The proposal for a revision of the scale of weight for age now pending before the Jockey Club is probably destined to be adopted. The main changes proposed are in the direction of higher weights for the two-year-olds, especially in the latter months of the year. In this respect the scale is even heavier than the English apportionment to- horses of that age. To the lay mind the addition or subtraction of a pound or two would not seem to matter much one way or another, but to those who know that the scale of weight for age is the product of much thought, in the brightest minds of the turf through many generations, any change "is a matter of prime importance. If the new scale is made turf law the practical effect of the changes will be critically observed and digested by those competent to do so. For purposes of comparison the pending revised scale of weight for age and the scale now in force are here presented: The following is the new scate.of weights, as proposed by F R.
