RECORDS OF THE HORSES OF 1918 WHICH WERE STARTED IN MANY RACES IN THE COURSE OF STRENUOUS CAMPAIGNS Ren Hauipson, now a participant in New Orleans racing, was the champion horse of last year in respect to the number of races in which lie was a starter. He ran in fifty-three races, of which he won seven. Rut he was placed in twenty-one more and, for an humble selling plater, earned his owner quite a respectable sum of money. There was some reason for taking a chance on Ren Hampsou now and then, but old Petelus with one victory in thirty-three attempts and Rrown Favorite with one in thirty made scant return to their backers. However, among the fifty-six horses which started thirty or more times were some good racers and such as Irregular, Clark M., Senator James, Kama, Game Cock, Kddie Henry and Obolus, each of which won ten or more races, well rewarded discriminating support. Others in this category were Rierman, J. J. Murdoch, Woodtrap, Koh-i-Noor, apt. Marchmont, Dolina and P.lue Thistle, all horses which averaged a win in three or four races, hence paid for following. The records of the industrious fifty-six were: Horse. Col. Sex. Age. Pedigree. Owner. Sts. 1st. 2d. 3d. Unp. Amt. Ren flampson ..br. g. 4 Ren Trovato Margaret HampsonW. V.
