TRANSFER OF ENGLISH RACE MEETINGS The announcement that the meeting advertised to be held at Hurst Park on February 18 and 10 would take place on these dates at Sandown Park does not create any precedent. A similar tiling happened last winter when it was found impracticable to hold a meeting at Lingfield, and Gat-wick was placed at the disposal of the Lingfield management, the meeting duly taking place. It was a Lingfield meeting, pure and simple, and it was, only an incident that the venue was another course. The reason racing cannot take place at Hurst Park on the dates named is that the R. A. F., which has been in occupation for some time, have not been able to evacuate the place in . time and, according to latest advices, it may hot be till May 1 that the course will btf free again. In the circumstances it is "fortunate that the Sahdown Park directors are in the position to offer the hospitality needed, and it may be taken that the meeting will suffer in no way either from the sporting standpoint or from the point of view of the Hurst Park shareholders. As regards the Kemptori Park meeting, which is to be held on May 12 and 13, we believe nothing has yet been definitely settled, but here again the military .are in occupation, and there is a doubt whether it will be possible for the meeting to take place at Sunbury, but in this event the executive at Gatwick have offered the use of their course to the Kempton stewards.
