John E. -Madden today suggested that the Kentucky Jockey Club set apart one day each spring and autumn after the regular race meetings at each of the tracks under its control for strictly non-professional racing, and that those occasions be known as Country Club Day It is further his suggestion that the programs on such days be under control of the country clubs in Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati, Covington and Newport. "In other countries and other sections of this country, said he, "the people who ride to hounds, attend I.orse shows and go golfing have great fun at such meetings. They would .prove. I think more popular with the people of Kentucky than perhaps the most of us realize."
