WILFRID VIAUS 1919 RACING STABLE Omar Khayyam and Westy Kogan the- Stars of the Twelve Horses in Charge of S. McNaughton. NEW YORK, March 11. Sandy McNaugliton will come to the races this year with a string of twelve horses, all of them three-year-olds or over, the property of AV. Viau. the well-known Canadian turfman. "I am well equipped with both stake horses and selling platers," says Sandy. "If I can only get Omar Khayyam and Westy Hogan to stand up under training they will make the stable more formidable, and then I have George Starr, -which will more than hold his own. After that I have . The Tank, which will mix it up with the jumpers, and eight, others that I hope will help pay the feed bills. To add to the wealth of the stable I have three Hat riders and a steeplechase jockey," continued Sandy. "Clarence Kummer, of course, Is the star, and I have his brother, Eddie Kummer. under contract also George Eider, an apprentice which gives promise of becoming popular, though he will not ride at less than 105 pounds. My steeplechase rider is J. Brown, who can do 125 pounds easily. I. jim not going to predict any great tilings for Mr. Wilfrid Viaus stable, my reliance being placed in Omar Khayyam, Westy Hogan and George Starr. Should they stand the seasons strain, which I believe they will, it is a sure thing that some of the stakes will be booked to Mr. Viaus account. As for the cheaper band, it is time enough to talk about them as they are on the way to the post. Some of them may be developed into jumpers. I dont know yet until I am through putting them to the test. They are all ready for strenuous exercise owing to the mild winter and the chances are some of them will be seen in Maryland when the season gets under way."
