. . . WEI G HT-FO R-AG E RACES AT PIMLICO NEV" ORK, X. Y March 11. Secretary W. P. Riggs of the Maryland Jockey Club is in the city today consulting judge Frank Bryan relative to inaugurating weight-for-age races at the Pimlico fall jnecting. "Heretofore," said Mr. Riggs, "we have had serial handicaps. It is our intention to arrange for three races at weight-for-age, preferably at three-quarters, one mile. and a mile and an eighth. The -entrance- will be free, as usual. All horses will Imj eligible, meaning that geldings will not foe barred, excepting those which are foarrpJ; iHjoin;it,lC3illy under the new rule of the Jockey Club, which went into operation February in. There will be no penalties or allowances in these races, and a social prize or trophy will foe presented to itho, owner of a horse should he win any two of these races. The amount of money to be added has not yet leen decided. The" Pimlico Nursery, for two-year-olds, which closed for yearlings last Octoler, has 227 entries from forty-four different interests. Entrance is free in this event, as in all the Pimlico stakes. The only charge is .a feu for starting with the other Pimlico stakes that close April 3. The nominations for the Nursery will lx; puuhlislicd under the names registered. John E. Madden is the largest nominator to this event with twenty-seven, while Captain It.ll Parr has named twenty-five. Nearly all the fashionable stables are represented.
