HAVANA MEETING ENDS APRIL Extension of Ono Week Announced to Complete Schedule of 100 Days Four Winners for Pitz HAVANA Cuba March 20 Announcement was made by the CubaAmerican Jockey Club this after ¬ noon that the present winter meeting at Oriental Park will come to a close with the running of the program of Sunday April i The meeting which has been most successful is probably the best held since the beautiful racing grounds at Oriental Park were constructed There has been about tin equal division of the stake and purse distribution between the stables from Kentucky and Maryland MarylandTodays Todays program was made tip of a setiesTJT selling races and the conditions were framed to suit horses of the ordinary caliber However while the fields lacked quality they were well matched and furnished exciting contests Storm Bound beat Annie Edgar by a head in the second and could have won farther had Pitz desired He had the filly under restraint at the finish James G was ridden hard to get up in time to beat the pace ¬ maker Lola by a nose in the third It was a tight fit l etwcen the two at the end Fcatherwit made a runaway affair of the fourth leading all the way and winning by a couple of lengths from Corson Little Nephew was hard ridden to last lone enough to outstay Ed Garrisons closing rush in the fifth to win by a head headThe The real feature of the af temoons sport was the riding of J Pitz who rode four winners three of them in succession He piloted Storm Bound to victory in the second and then landed the winners of the last three races racesJ J J Timmcrman disposed of the promising two yearold Dr Hall at nrivate sale this morning to Mrs G W Billerman Dr Hall will be shipped to Kentucky and later to Canada provided racing is resumed in the Dominion next summer
