I RECORD OF A STABLE WHICH DID WELL IN LAST YEARS RACING i THROUGH THE FLEETNESS OF ROUTLEDGE AND STAR HAMPTON W M Jeffords of Philadelphia lias not achieved any marked degree of success in racing since he recently embarked in the sport But he has been a liberal buyer of young stock and if he keeps on his day will come Last year he campaigned six horses and had the pleasure of winning stake races with the twoyearolds Koutledge and Star Hampton Routledge taking the Adirondack Handicap at Saratoga in fast time while Star Hampton won the Colorado Stakes at Jamaica and tlie Albany Handicap at Sar ¬ atoga defeating no less a celebrity than the redoubtable Billy Kelly in the latter race but carrying only 11 5 pounds to 133 on Billy Kelly However it was a capital performance and Mr Jeffords has a brace of excellent threeyearold prospects in these young horses The others in his stable were but moderate although not one of them failed to win a bit of money the record of the stable being Col and Sex A Pedigree PedigreeBy h g 3 By Sir John Johnson Quack hr g 2 By Plaudit Result h c 3 By Plaudit Olga Nethersole Nethersoleb b f 3 By Plaudit Janowood br g 2 By Iarley Dak Sandry Sandrych ch f 3 By Plaudit Offensive
