RECOGNITION OF MRS WADSWORTH XEW YORK X Y Marcli 20 The Department of Agriculture has designated Mrs Herbert Wads worth of Avon X Y president of the Genesee Valley Horse Breeders Association as a specialist in horse husbandiTt and that energetic horsewoman will continue the splendid work she has been doing in the matter of horse production in cooperation with the Jockey Club having the backing and moral support of the federal authorities authoritiesLast Last fall representatives of the Remount and Animal Husbandry Bureau visited the Avon Fair and the present agreement with Mrs Wadsworth is the outcome of their observation observationAbout About the same time the Department of Agricul ¬ ture through George M Rommel chief of the Bureau of Animal Husbandry on behalf of the army asked the assistance of the Jockey Club toward procuring thoroughbred sires of the proper type to which certain mares of the remount de ¬ partment might be bred bredThirtynine Thirtynine stallions were donated by members of the Jockey Club and by racing associations and they are now at the various remount depots in Virginia Oklahoma and Montana The agreement with Mrs Wadsworth indicates a still greater degree of enthusiasm and interest on the part of the government to establish a type of horse that will be best suited to the needs of the people and army
