FAVOR RACES AT LONGER DISTANCES Jimmy Mclaughlins idea of training horses is not in line with modern ideas He says I saysI do not approve of the use of cotton bandages I think they are too heating We have had more twoyearolds break down since bandages were introduced than ever before Just imagine your ¬ self done up In cotton bandages in July and August night and day Continued heat is bound to soften the bone boneI I believe in lotions plenty of cold water to harden and toughen the legs and plenty of fresh air I believe in longer races Anyone almost can train or ride a sprinter With longer races we would have better horses better trainers better jockeys and better racing
