WHEN SARATOGA STAKES WILL BE RUN Order of Running of Various Fixtures to Be Decided at the Spa Hopeful Stakes Closing Pay NEW YORK N Y July 16 Little change has been made in the order of the running of the stake fixtures at Saratoga during the month of August For the opening day August 1 the Sara ¬ toga Handicap Flash Stakes and Shillelah Steeple ¬ chase are provided the same as last year The United States Hotel and Kenner Stakes are the attractions for the first Saturdays racing at the Spa while the Hopeful Stakes and Saratoga Cup are reserved for the closing day of the meeting Sat ¬ urday August 30 30Altogether Altogether thirtyone closed events are scheduled for decision a feature each day with one or more on the Saturdays In addition to these there are many overnight handicaps of sufficient value to attract large fields of good horses With stable room already at a premium there will be a sur ¬ plus of horses to fill the daily programs and large fields in nearly every race seems a certainty certaintyEvery Every promising threeyearold in the country has one or more stake engagements at the Spa and all the stars of the older division are well represented in the many valuable events eventsAll All the twoyearold stake entries include the youngsters that have already achieved success as well as many others that have shown exceptional promise in their trials and have
