BALKAN STORKRAVEN BATTLE A West Cumberland Eiig officer just demobil ¬ ized states that the most interesting sight he saw in the war was a great battle between storks and ravens hi the Balkans A colony of some 150 storks went off without leaving sentinels over their nests soon afterward a flock of about 500 ravens de ¬ scended on the trees and commenced sucking the storks eggs The big birds returned and a battle royal ensued In a few minutes all was over The storks used their bills effectively the ground was strewn with black feathers and dead raveus uud the survivors fled for their lives
