PRINTERS DISTRESS RACING FOLKS Those who participated in the Irish Derby meet ¬ ing at The Curragh during the week had to put up with a great deal of inconvenience au experience seldom witnessed There were no race cards printed owing to a strike of Dublin printers and the absence of such was keenly felt The runners and jockeys were chalked on blackboards which were huug up in the usual number of frames In the paddock arid on the course and those were eagerly scanned by the huge concourse with pencils and paper copying the list The stlble lads leading the horses round the ring were minus their usual iudex slevve numbem and they were kept busy answering questions as to tlie names of their charges The officials however worked bard and under great difficulties matters were carried but as well as could be expected Newspapers were in great demand arid were sold at sixpence apiece Manchester Sporting Chrxwlcle
