OLD ROSEBUD TO RACE IN CUBA BY T K LYNCH LYNCHSARATOGA SARATOGA SPRINGS N Y August 8 Frank D Weir who is here with his stable is well pleased with tlie improvement shown by his famous racer Old Rosebud He is doing everything asked of him said Weir a few days back and he may be seen with the colors up some time during the Sara ¬ toga meeting meetingDuring During the past three or four years Old Rosebud has been turned out during the winter months but Weir has about decided to include him in the string intended for shipment to Cuba next winter winterI I understand tlie CubaAmerican Jockey Club intends hanging up some big stakes next winter aud if it is true that they are going to include two 10000 stakes in their list of offerings I shall surely take the old horse down to Havana and take a crack at some of the big events I believe that Old Rosebud will like the track at Oriental Park and I am certain that he will winter as well in Cuba as any place else I am already building up my string for a winters campaign and if I am as successful as I was last winter I shall feel perfectly satisfied satisfiedMaurice Maurice Lee who is connected with the William Walker stable as agent and who suffered painful injuries on tlie opening day of the Saratoga meet ¬ ing as a result of being kicked on the side of the iiead by Masked Dancer is up and about again He was a visitor at the Saratoga course yesterday and although still a bit shaky on his pins hopes to be as well as ever in a week or ten days
