The latter was a forward contender for the last half, but tired when forced to a drive. TURF ran well. ASS 1731 E was iu close quarters iu the stretch. FAIR GAIN began somewhat slowly, hut gained steadily, and saving much ground on the inside took the lead in the last eighth and outstayed GEORGIE in the final drive. GEORGIE raced in nearest pursuit of the leader in the early running and moved up gamely in the stretch, but was interfered by INDISCRETION, then came again when clear and was wearing the wintier down in the closing strides. KINGS CIIA3IPION finished gamely and easily outstayed INDISCRETION. The latter raced into a long lead in the first half, but swerved badly when tiring and was eased up.
