TO ANNOUNCE CUBAN PROGRAM SOON LAUREL, Md., October 8. II. D. Rrown, general manager of the Cnba-American Jockey Club, was a visitor at Laurel this afternoon. He came from the west and will remain until Thursday, when he will leave for Cuba to arrange for the openiug of the winter meeting at Oriental Park, which is scheduled to begin on Thanksgiving day. He will return to the States about October 20. Conditions of the stakes to be rim at the Cuba meeting will be announced October 15. An announcement regarding the purses to be added to the overnight events will be mado at the same time. The club has decided to declare off the automobile races which were to have been held in November. The recent storm which swept the gulf coast did so much damage to the automobile plants in Havana that it was decided best not to give the automobile meeting this year. Fortunately no damage whatever was done to Oriental Park and the place will be handsomer than ever and more inviting to the tourists this year. There is already much enthusiasm among the Cubans over the coming meeting, which promises to bo the greatest ever held on tlie Island.
