STALLION FAIR PLAY DEAL CALLED OFF LEXINGTON, Ky., December 12. Major August Belmont telegraphed Mrs. Edward Kane, manager of his Nursery Stud, that the deal entered into by Gifford Cochran of Mt. Kisco. N. Y.. for the purchase of the stallion Fair Play has been declared off aud that the great son of Hastings and Fairy Gold will continue to stand at the Nursery Stud, as- the property- of his breeder. Mr. Bebnout . further announced that Fair Plays stud fee for the coming season will be 2,000.
