LATEST GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS STATE LEXINGTON, Ky., December 13. Southern Gentleman is the name claimed by AV. Ar. Thraves for the bay colt by Ultimus Tsarina knocked down to him for 4,500 at the Saratoga sales last August. Logistillas colt by Celt has been named The Virginian, Sneerwells filly by Brummel is called Dorothy and Martha Lees filly by Sweep will lx known as Lady Astor. Flying Colors Star Shoot Independence Day and her weanling colt by Ballot have been sold by J. N. Markey to E. L. Davis, Kookwood Stud, who also is owner of the yearling bay filly by Luke McLuke Flying Colors. The mare is in foal to Ballot. The Monfort Jones horses will be wintered at Hot Springs and Edward II. Garrison is expected hen? next week to attend to the shipment of Rouleau and Brookholt. The mares Sapphire, by Star Ruby Cap and Bells; Martha Snow., by Sir Martin Snow Marten, and Tea Biscuit, by Rock Island Teas Over, purchased in England by A. B. Hancock, arrived today in company with the stallion Ambassador, the sire of Constancy.
