TIJUANA TO OPEN SATURDAY, JAN. 24 SAN DIEGO, Cal., December IS. The Tijuana race track will reopen on January 24. Such was the announcement made this afternoon by James W. Coffroth. president of the Ijiwer California Jockey Club, which ojierates racing at. Tijuana. The Coffroth announcement follows: "The Tijuana race course will open on January 24 for a period of one hundred days or more. No purse will be less than .00. There will be seven or more races daily. The overnight handicaps will Ik; from 00 to ,000 in value. Stakes of substantial amounts will be announced. The pari-mutuel system of lietting is to be used and a new plant will be .installed at once. "The track is in condition to race almost at once, and horses will be welcome on and after Christmas. Rut little work will lie needed on the plant itself. Workmen are already putting the building and stables into usable condition.
