Minute Man. because of his light weight and well known ability to run in heavy poiag, was an overw Helming favorite in the third race, a three-quarters -print, but he proved a dismal failure. The Hoy beatng him easily under Lykes skillful ride. It was the first winning mount of the real lor this Jockey, and he made it a double for the afternoon When he brought Haldol de Verdun home in Hie sixth race. The opener witnessed the liewnfall of Sky Blue, an outstanding favorite, carrying the colors of II. I. Whiiiicy. The winner turned up in K.lward Cebiians Qaeen of Trumps, alertly ridden by "Mud dy " .lass Mail at lite Dixon was her closest con lender from the start, and Sky l.lue had to be ridden i ard lo land third place. Paul Connelly again figuring in a winning performance, his second in three days. The final race went to Hen. Rjrag, which had to be roused up hard near the end to outstay the suddenly Improved Uarsbaa, which came with a rush in the last sixteeath and overhauled Pahtaki for second place. J. 1". Smith, a former Steeplechase rider and trainer of Weary, was ruled off the turf this afternoon by the stewards for violation of rule 231 of racing rules.
