PARLIAMENT CALLED FOR FEB. 26 Rutherford Racing Report to Be Ready at That Time and Prompt Action Is Expected. TORONTO, Oat., January 12. — The Dominion parliament has been called to meet at Ottawa on Fibril .-try 21. The report of Dr. Rutherford, com -missiener, inquiring into the racing situation, will li ready lor the opening of piirliament. but not much before. The iuipiiry has been practically completed, though il is just possible that a final sitting will be held at Ottawa. This does net enter into present calculations. The fad that the report is to be in by the time that piirliament assembles has led to the conclusion that legislation based on it will be broaght down during the session, according to ■ well-informed Ottawa coriespondenf. The matter has not beea eearidertd, hut the thaar n are not the most favorable. Legislation on sume subjects cannot be avoided, but if there is any controversial question which can couvenieally he laid over this year, thai course is more than likely to be followed.
