F. C0LTILETTI LEADS RIDERS OF 1920 The young apprentice rider. Frank Coltiietti. seems likely to be a strong contender for the riding honors of the year. At, least he has made an excellent start, having ridden fifteen winners from the first of the year up to and including the racing of Monday. Coltiletti is riding at the Fair Granada anil tops all the jockeys at that Hack, C. Kob inson. the leading American rider of 1010. being his closest rival with seven winning mounts. However, Coltiletti will have no easy task to hold his leadership, as J. Carmody is riding in brilliant form at Havana and has thirteen winners to BJH credit since the first of the year. Nor is T. Murray, who finished second to Rohiaaaa last year, to be overlooked, the Spin -e stable rider having al ready ridden ten winners Jockeys who ride during the winter months have a big advantage over the boys who do not appear in the saddle until the spring and summer racing gets under way. with the result that oftentimes some oae of these lads secures such a big lead over his rivals thai only an accident w mane oilier misfortune can prevent him from rapturing the honors of the year. Tie- prospects are that Coltiletti. Carmody. Murray and Robinson and several others will have quite a respectable total of winning mounts lo their credit before the winter racing is over and come north with inch a lead as to assure them inclusion in tin- list of the twenty lenders of the year If all goes well with them. e
