RACING GOSSIP FROM NEW YORK XKW YOIMC X Y March 11 The Ilalfltred Stud Uook which is being looked after by Mrs Herbert Wsidsworth is growing into considerable nsilional importance Though it has only been in existence a few months Mrs Wsidsworth lias alresidy received registrations of foals from the stsites of Xew Ytirk Maryland Virginia Pennsyl ¬ vania Ohio Michigan Oklahoma and ltali ltaliIt It is probable The Jockey Club will meet next Thursday being the regular day for such meetings Should quorum be present the stewards will pos ¬ sibly approve officials for tint coming year and grant license for which here are many applications from jockeys and trainers who are under the ban banK K Wolke tin steeplechase rider who tlid his bit in France will be ready for business this coming spring At present he lias made no engagements to ride for any particular stable stableAmateur Amateur racing will begin early this yesir the first meeting scheduled being at Willow Crove Pa April 10 under the auspices of Huntingdon Aalley Hunt April 17 there will be si oneday meeting sit Krdcnhcim upon the estate of Ceorge I Widener This meeting will be arranged by the White Marsh Valley Hunt and will give three steeplechases and one flat race Also April 17 the nineteenth running of the Crsind Xatiomtl Print to Point rsice will be decided sit Crecnspring Valley nesir Haltimorc This race is over a threemile course A sequel to these short meetings the Maryland Hunt Cup will be run for on April 21 also In the Orcenspring Valley district This is an annual event which has beeii run continuously since 1801 and is over a course of three miles
