LICENSE REGULATION IN KENTUCKY Lexington Lucky and to Receive 1000 Per Day for Its Spring Meeting LKXIXCTOX Kv March 11 While the pro pounders of the law fixing tin licence fur race tracks sit 2500 JUT racing day for stsite purposes and in lieu of sill other license or excise tixes were not agreeable to an amendment proposed by Senator J W Stoll of this city which would permit cities wherein race tracks are located to collect u tax not exceeding 00 daily for munici ¬ pal pnriioses it is today pointed out that the City of Lexington will collect 11100 daily license for I lie spring meeting here Irior to the action of the general asseinlily on the race track license bill which was concluded today by its passage through Hit house of representatives at Frankfort the Lexington city commissioners adopted an ordi ¬ nance fix ins license to lie paid during the year PJ20 and one item in that ordinance is 1 0 daily tax on the race track of the Kentucky Jockey Mill The state law docs not become effective until in Tune and the meeting here will he in April and May MayIt It is stated here that the Kentucky Jockey Mill entered into an agreement with the officials of the City of Covington whereby payment of 200 daily is jo be made for each racing day with the under ¬ standing that the money will be expended upon the road to the Uitonia race track trackIt It behooves trainers and jockeys who intend par ¬ ticipating in the raring in Kentucky this year to get in their applications for licenses to tile State Itaoing I Commission before April 1 The license fee is 10 before April 1 ami 25 after April 1 The fee for apprentice jockev license tintl for registration of colors is 1 each before April 1 and 10 each after April 1 For recording the appointment of an iiitliomed agent the fee is at all times 1 The book of rules revised to January 1 1020 is just off the press and is being distributed from the offices of the State liacing Commission in this city cityJimmy Jimmy Ackennaii assistant 1o W L Lewis offi ¬ cial timer of exercise trials arrived here this morn ¬ ing f pin I Kjisville and vil report for duty April 1 1I I think flic horses standing out for the Kentucky Derby on 10TI performances are Donaconna John 1 Crier and Ilsizes he said I think Doiuiaconna is a much better horse than On Watch and I cannot class Irince Pal with the four horses named However my deductions are all based on lll rac ¬ ing and it is not at all improbable that the work of tin horses between now and Derby day will occa ¬ sion a eliangi in opinion
