OLD TIMERS RACE TO BE RENEWED NEW YOUK X Y March 17 The Maryland Jockey Club has decided to again provide the Old Timers Kace which was run for the lirst time at Pimlico last spring The nice is to be renewed under the original conditions that is the distance is to be a half mile the weights high and the en ¬ tries restricted to lead ponies regularly used as such in racing stables The ponies are to be ridden by oldtime jockeys and amateurs both riders and ponies to bo approved by the committee which will for this race consist of three T J Ilealy Joseph K Davis and F K Midgley MidgleyThe The date for the closing of the entries will be an ¬ nounced in due time with the full conditions of the race The Maryland Jockey Club will again provide snilable purses and a number of the friends of rac ¬ ing will arrange that all who ride in the race will receive a piece of silver Last spring the entries were so numerous that for safetys sake it was run in two ill visions George Odom winning one and Jerry Carroll the other There was in addition an extra heat between the last horse in each division This brought a victory for Jim Fitzsiminons FitzsiminonsFoxhall Foxhall Kceno has presented an oil painting of the celebrated horse Foxhall which won many real races in England and France iu the early ighties Foxhall belonged to the late James 1 Keene who won more than S OOOOO on the horse when he won the Cambridgeshire and Cesarewitch Handicaps iu 1SS1
