JOCKEY J LOFTUS REFUSED A LICENSE XEW YOUK X Y March 17 At a meeting of the stewards of The Jockey Club held today the application of John Loftus for a jockey license was denied Loftus has been one of the leading riders of this country for years having won at some time or other nearly every important stake race Last year be was in the senice of Samuel I Itiddle who races under the name of the Glen Kiddle Farm In IStlS he was the leading rider for Commander J K L Hoss HossDuring During the fall meeting at Pimllco in 101 at which time Commander ISoss had second call on his services he refused to let him ride any more of his horses being displeased with his riding of Sir Barton in a face in which that colt was beaten
