NEW YORK SPRING RACING OUTLOOK Every Good Sprinter Named in the Paumonok Rivalry Between Ross and Sinclair Stables From the opening of the racing season on The Jockey Club tracks sport of tlie highest caliber should be seen if the quality of the nominations to the various stakes of the Metropolitan Jockey ritil is critically considered In no former year has there been a more promising aggregation of fleet horses named for the various events to be de ¬ cided at the meeting which is scheduled to open on May ir The Ross and Sinclair stables have entered every good horse they possess and the rivalry between these powerful stables promises to be one of the features of the year For the Paumonok Handicap at threequarters which is the feature of the open ¬ ing day tin Koss nominations are Motor Cop Con ¬ stancy Hilly Kelly and Hoyal Jester while trainer Hildreth has named Lucnllite Dominique Valor Lord Brighton and Krewer for Mr Sinclair While Iucullite can run as far as most thoroughbreds it is thought by experts generally that sprint ¬ ing is most to his liking and the big son of Trap Hock will probably make his first start of the year in the Paumonok with Dominique also a cer ¬ tain starter should the going be heavy heavyHilly Hilly Kelly lias a neck victory over Luoullito in the Toboggan Handicap last year to his credit and there were those who regarded the Dick Welles gelding one of the real stars of the sprinting divi ¬ sion had he been especially prepared for that sort of racing uy Itedwell gave Hilly Kelly a severe campaign in using him to fit Sir Harton for his every engagement and the gelding taking everything into consideration was really one of the phenomenal campaigners of last year Con ¬ stancy could outrun any of the twoyearold division with the exception of Man o War This beautiful English miss as a matter of fact could do things of a morning to make a man think his watch had gone loco She improved in appearance during tho winter and Bodwell is confident that she will hold her own in any eoinpany eoinpanyNATURALIST NATURALIST A DISTURBER DISTURBERTiie Tiie presence of Naturalist in tho 1aiiinonok in ¬ troduces a most dangerous factor This willful geld ¬ ing can run as fast cs any thoroughbred in train ¬ ing if he wants to but his temper makes him uncertain Time and again last year he electrified the public by flights of speed that were nothing short of phenomenal and it is a pity that he is not more dependable He likes a big field however and there is every indication that a doen or more candidates will go to the post in the raumonok The St Simon temper lost to the turf a good sire when the knife had to lie used on Naturalist Other candidates from the stable of Joseph 17 Wid ener are the threeyearolds Pilgrim and Fair Oain the latter the highpriced halfbrother to Fair Play and Friar Kock which did not run up to his breed ¬ ing in Pl Other good sprinters engaged in the race are Old Koenig winner of the race in 1SJ1S and Ima Frank from the 1 J Maher stable Old Kosebud Upset Wildair Star Master Flags Arnold Hasten On Fairy Wand Diinboyne and Hobey Haker HakerUj Uj Kxcolsior Handicap at a mile and a six ¬ teenth which will be the feature of the second meeting at Jamaica and which will be run on Monday June 14 has a galaxy of racing stars of the first magnitude engaged The Koss Sinclair and Whitney entries alone insure a grand contest The nominations from the stable of the Canadian sportsman include Sir Harton Hilly Kelly War Pennant King Thrush Faisan Dore Milkmaid and Boniface Trainer Hildreth for the Sinclair stable may make his selections from the following Pur ¬ chase Iucnllite Mad Hatter Thunderclap Corn Tassel Valor Cirrtts and Lord Hrighton a truly formidable buid of thoroughbreds to have racing in the colors of any one man The Whitney nomi ¬ nations include the threeyearolds Ipset John 1 Crier Leviathan and Wildair and the fouryearold Vexatious
