LIVINGSTONROWAN DA Combination Wins Half of Friday Card at Empire City Oriole Jadda and Arada the theSuccessful Successful Trio Ticklish Ticklishin in Great Finish NEAV YORIC N Y July 23 The stable of Jef ¬ ferson Livingston and Jockey T Rowan had a field day at Empire City today Tlie combination won half of the afternoons card Oriole was the first winner for the LivingstonRowan confederacy scoring a hollow victory in the opening dash He showed tremendous speed for the going nnd simply ran away from his opponents opponentsJadda Jadda made it n double when he led his race from flag fall to finish by many lengths Yellow Hand was favorite with Georgie a receding second choice Jadda was highly considered though by his connections In the running none of the others disputed Jaddas lead but the fight for place honors developed into quite a contest near the finish with the Redstone stables Georgie getting up in the last twenty yards for second moiie3 with Yellow Hand a tired third Marie An ¬ toinette followed Jadda closely to the stretch bend where she retired Oriole was the first winner for the Livingston stable the Assagai colt scoring in hollow fashion in the opening dash He showed tremendous speed for the going and simply ran away from his opponents The Auleain colt Arada completed an eventful afternoon by a narrowly achieved success in the final race defeating Saca jawea by a head in a driving finish the result of which was in doubt until the last stride strideTicklish Ticklish Cannandale St Allan and Pickwick provided a hair raising finish in the MayNovember Higliweight Handicap the feature of the days card at Empire Cily Ticklish which was away last allowed i sparkling performance and admirably ridden by T Rice got his nose in front of Car mandale in the last stride St Allan and Pick ¬ wick were only two necks back at the finish Carmandale set the pace after disposing of Different Eyes and led his opponents to the stretch by two lengths At this point St Allan nnd Ticklish made their bids with the latter on the inside rail Both challenged twenty yards out with Pickwick coining fast The deceptive angle at this track again played a part as most of the onlookers thought Carmandale had won wonFlibbertygibbet Flibbertygibbet showed a marked improvement in form following a change in his owners and rider in the second race lie ran well in the going under Turners guidance and defeated Billyboll in a ding dong finish Franklin choice for the race was the pace maker until on the turn out of the back stretch where he quit unexpectedly At this point FlibbertyRibbct and Ballybell raced to the front The former held on longer than usual and failed to come back when Ballybell challenged challengedThe The fifth race called for maiden jockeys as riders of the starters in it and E Kummer u brother of Clarence Kumraer pilot of Man o AVar in all Ms races this year attracted attention by the masterly way he brought home Belgian Queen a winner two lengths in advance of Goldcrcst Boy witli the favorite Sibola in third place placeT T H AVilson claimed AVar Machine out of the fifth race Thursday for 2250
