WOODBINE PARK FALL STAKES Ontario Jockey Club to Give No Stake of Less Value Than 5000 Added at Its Coming Fall Meeting TORONTO Ontario July 30 The Ontario Jockey Club the oldest and always one of the foremost of Canadian racing associations not to be outdone by its younger rivals lias come forward with a stake and purse program for its fall meeting at Woodbine in keeping with the times and one that will compare favorably with any offered on the Canadian circuit No stake with a value less than 5000 added and the minimum overnight purse will be 1500 1500The The directors of the Ontario Jockey Club have also decided in conjunction with the Connaught Park Jockey Club Ottawa and the Montreal Jockey Club Montreal to make a special effort to attract owners of steeplechase horses to run at the fall meetings At both Connaught Park and Blue Bon ¬ nets steeplechase stakes will be given givenAt At Woodbine Park in addition to the Hendrie Steeplechase should conditions warrant there will be the Woodbine Autumn Steeplechase Handicap 3000 on the opening day Saturday Sept 25 and the Coventry Steeplechase 2500 added on Wednesday Sept 29 a steeplechase for threeyear olds and a maiden race for fouryearolds and over There will be a steeplechase on each day of the meeting meetingFollowing Following is the list of stakes to be run at the Woodbine Park autumn meeting which close for entries August 25 25Toronto Toronto Autumn Cup Handicap 7500 added for threeyearolds and over One mile and a quarter quarterOntario Ontario Jockey Club Cup Handicap 7500 add ¬ ed for threeyearolds and over Two miles and a quarter Durham Cup 5000 added for threeyearolds and over One mile and threequarters threequartersWilliam William Mulock Cup Handicap 5000 for threeyearolds and over Foaled in Canada One mile and seventj ynrrts 5000 added for ail ages Threequarters mile mileLansdowne Lansdowne Nursery Handicap 5000 added for twoyearolds Foaled in Canada Threequarters mile mileGrey Grey Stakes 5000 added for twoyearolds One mile mileHendrie Hendrie Steeplechase Handicap 5000 added for fouryearolds and over Two and onehalf miles milesIn In addition to the foregoing list of stakes the Stanley Produce Stakes 2500 added for foals of 1917 and the Seagram Cup 2000 for three yearolds and over the bonafide property of own ¬ ers resident in Canada will be run during the fall meeting at Woodbine
