AMERICANS BUY RICHLY IN FRANCE At tho annual sale of thoroughbreds at the Establishments Cheri, Deauville, held August 12. the bay filly, Karine, 1019, by Prince Palatine Kara-manic, was sold to John Sanford, the American turfman, for 5,000. At the same sale A. K. Macomber purchased the chestnut filly, Westminster Rells, 1910, by Fancheur Wedding Rells II., for 9,000, and tho yearling filly F.udora, by Maintenon Isadore II., for 0,000. Another purchase by Mr. Macomber was Fanatique, a yearling bay filly, by Alcantara II. Fata Morgana, for ,000.
