J LEX WELL, under restraint in the early running, took the lead with a rush on the last turn and won in a canter. ERNEST A. set the pace under a pull for the llrst half mile and could not keep pace with the winner when challenged, but held the others safe. LOCUST LEAVES ran a fairly com! race. FAUNUS, in dose "quarters for the first half mile, saved ground when entering tliestrctch and, passing AVEDGAAOOD, won going away. AVEDGAVODO rushed into the lead and drew away while rounding the last turn, but tired in the stretch drive. INGLECREST, away forwardly, raced in closest pursuit to the stretch and, linishing gamely, would have been second in another stride. CHEVALIER began Rlowly and was forced to race extremely wide for the entire race. RANCOCAS ran away a quarter before the start. LUNETTA displayed excellent speed in setting the pace under restraint and held "on gamely when challenged to the eighth post, where she tired and was driving hard at the end tb with-, stand BRIDESMANS challenge. The latter began slowly and ran wide on the turns, but finished fast and gamely. CRYSTAL FORD showed early speed. KALVESTRA had a clear course on the outside and finished fast. RED RED ROSE came with a rus:i through the stretch. AVAR GOD jumped on AVAR MARVELS heels and fell. DUNBOYNE and PILGRIM fell over him. HILDUR set a great pace and. raced PAGAN PAN into defeat, then drqw away on the stretch turn, but could not withstand the winners challenge. SEDUEF.IELD was hard ridden for the entire race and outstayed SPORTING BLOOD in the final drive. The latter, ran wide all the way. PAGAN PAN quit badly in the last quarter.
