GREAT CROWD AT AQUEDUCT : Prospect of Seeing Two Cracks Clash the Attracting Magnet. i John P. Grier Leads Cirrus All the Way in the Edge-mere Handicap. NEW YORK, X. Y., September 18. An immense Saturday crowd was out at Aqueduct this afternoon to see a good card of races decided. The feature of the program, the Edgemere Handicap, with 3,500 added, brought only two to the post. John P. Grier rilled favorite over Cirrus and, leading all the way, won under restraint after a shaking up an eighth out. The two were close together for the entire way, with John P. Grier slightly in the lead. They came into the stretch like a team, but Cirrus began laboring when near home. Le Glorieux, an odds-on choice, took the third race, a dash of a mile for platers. Burgoyne made the pace, closely attended by Mose. The former retired when an eighth out, where Le Glorieux, which had been under restraint, took the lead and won without trouble. Mose held on gamely and retained second place, with Tan II. third. Paddy Dear, about which there was some activity, was never dangerous. Ting-a-Ling wheeled as the barrier went up and was left at the post. The steeplechase proved easy for the Greentree stables Flare, with Rupica second and Frank B. third. Sweepment, which was leading to near the last jnmp, fell at that obstacle. His rider, W. Blake, escaped with a slight shaking up. Bupica was in the- lead when coming over the last . Ambrose, who was astride Wedgwood, caused the unseating of Ensor when his mount suddenly jumped into Fluff. The winner turned up in Vista, which ran in the colors of J. W. McClelland. Vista followed Wedgwood and took the lead when Wedgwood ttred. Vistas margin at the finish was only a half length, however, for Ballynew was overhauling her rupMly. Superb showed a good performance in taking third place. The stewards suspended jockey Ambrose for six days for interfering with jockey Elisors mount in the first race. Ensor was only slightly shaken rip by the fall, but canceled his engagements for the day. 0. Buxton claimed Le Glorieux out of the third jrnce for ,255.
