GOOD SPORT AT THORNCLIFFE TORONTO, Ontario, September 18.: An immense crowd gathered at Thorncllffe Park today and witnessed the decision of a well-arranged program of seven races, of which the Thorncliffe Autumn Handicap was the feature. In a sensational finish liobby Allen was returned the winner of the event, defeating Alvord by the shortest of margins, with Eulah F. in third place and right at their heels. J. Mclllmurrays BIddledee established a new track record of. ,1:43 for the mile and seventy yards when she showed the way throughout and easily won the sixth race from Blaise and Kentucky Boy. Acting for P. J. Sullivan, II. Raines today sold Dairyman to Doc Purcell and Pluviada to J. S. Baldwin. The latter shipped two of his string to Dorval Park last- night, while the others are destined for the Chagrin Falls meeting near Cleveland. Bradiey Wilson, general manager of Devonshire Park at Windsor, was a visitor here today; also S. W. Holmau, who is promoting tlie half-mile meeting at Chagrin Falls, Ohio. G. J. Wagncm Hvas an arrival from Kentucky, where he went to. inspect eleven yearlings, tlie property of the Pelican Stable.
