DORVAL MEETING AT AN END MONTREAL, Quebec, September 24. The Quebec racing season, which has extended over ninety-eiglit days, was brought to a close this afternoon with the miming of the final program at Dorval Park. Despite the fact that the card was lacking in a feature event, the racing was spirited and interesting. The outstanding feature of the day was the riding of jockey Hinphy. This lad . accounted for the first three races with Aunt Deda, Keen Jane and Assumption. Ideal weather conditions again prevniled and one of the largest crowds of the meeting was on hand to witness the running of the final card. All of the officials" left this evening for Toronto. Sheridan Clark left for his home in New York. Mr. Clark has done exceedingly well in bringing together good fields. Seventy-eight horses participated in the running of the meeting, the smallest number by far on any Canadian track this year. A. L. Slofel has decided to turn out. the two-year-old Fornovo on a Montreal farm for the winter. E. T. Zollicoffer departed last night for Baltimore, Md. R. J. Scully is the latest to ship to Cleveland for the meeting to be held at Chagrin Falls. The exodus to Toronto and other points set in in earnest last night. Among those shipping to Toronto were: J. Hope, G. Nibbs, W. M. Ryan, F. P. Robie. D. Raymond, E. L. Snyder, W. T. Trenholme. IL Warner, C. L. Whiting, M. Williams and W. A. McKinney. T. Hodge shipped on Wednesday, with jockey Hinphy accompanying the Hodge shipment. At a meeting of the directors of the Dorval Jockey Club it was decided to rebuild the steeplechase field. This branch of the sport will be ex-tensivly catered to next year. Two mixed carloads left for Laurel last night. The horses of W. L. Oliver, B. Mock and others eomprised the shipment. Stake blanks for the coming meeting at Havana were distributed by judge Lyle among the horsemen today.
